My fiance and I had the same issue. He bought my ring at the Jewerly exchange and with in 3 days my setting fractured!!! Not good! I ended up losing my diamond. You get what you pay for. Try saving a dollar by using these people and you will be very sorry. Bad craftsmenship and awful customer service!
My boyfriend bought my engagement ring at the Jewerly exchange....I only wore it for a few days and the setting fractured. Not only that but the ring looked like it was years old not 2 days. He took the ring back to get it resized, the fracture fixed and to address other issues with the ring....they put the diamond in a new setting which looked just like the original and still there are problems. The gold is very dull and yellow (its a white gold ring) and the setting still sits crooked on the band. Still, I love my ring but will take it else where to get it redipped and inspected. I may eventually have to get a new setting because the craftsmenship is so poor! I would NEVER recommend anyone buying from the Jewerly Exchange.
Unfortunately we had a very bad experience at the Jewelry Exchange in Norristown. We put a deposit on a diamond to temporarily hold it until my son could arrive to view it, a few hours later. He was planning on getting engaged. We checked first to see if our money could be refunded in the event our son did ot like the diamond. We were told a resounding "yes"! In fact, the answer was "yes" the three times that we asked. Consequently, my son decided not to purchase the diamond. He actually found a better diamond at a lower price from a jeweler in Philadelphia. The Jewelry Exchange in Norristown would NOT refund our money for a temporary hold. The diamond was on hold for a total of 6 days only. They charged a 25% deposit on our credit card totaling over $3000. Needless to say, we were outraged. The salespeople felt badly admittedly and clearly agreed that we were misled. Make no mistake, the salespeople have no authority in that store. Everything goes through Corporate Office. The salesgirl actually told me that the Corporate Office always says no - that they will NEVER refund any money once it is gotten. The staff feels badly about this. Buyers beware! DO NOT GIVE THE JEWELRY EXCHANGE ANY MONEY OR SIGN ANYTHING NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. THEY ARE NOT TRUE TO THEIR WORD. If things go wrong in any way, they WILL NOT REFUND YOUR MONEY. Their policy is like no other jewelry store's policy. This policy speaks volumes about their company. They actually had our diamond in their safe the whole six days. It never left the store, nor was any handling of the dimaond completed. Their were no costs incurred by them. We were clearly misled and that was established. They still would not REFUND our money. We were even willing to pay a nominal restocking fee, but they would not agree. Don't deal with Marie at Corporate Office either. She will attempt to "spin" anything you say. She went so far as to say to me that our son owed us the money, not them! Again, buyer beware of any monies you lay down at The Jewelry Exchange. Be sure that you absolutely want the item that you hold, because they will not under any circumstances refund your money. But hey, what goes around comes around. I can't imagine that a customer that treats their customers in this manner, will be around a whole lot longer. The public is not dumb. They appreciate honesty, not dishonesty. And they know the difference.... A Disgruntled Customer and Probably One of Many!

Wow! thanks fro sharing I will not go there to buy a diamond at all!
My spouse and I would never buy anything else at the Jewelry Exchange in Norristown. We spent over $3000.00 in May and have had to make many trips up there which is not around the corner from us. The diamond we got is good quality but we took it to another jeweler/goldsmith to be told the diamond is not securely put in. We returned and got a not so very nice manager who didn't see anything wrong. Even though we pointed out to her, her diamond was securily put in her ring. (We were lied about their onsite goldsmith We were told he was on vacation, only to find out they don't have a goldsmith for quite a few months now) It took a week to get the ring back. They did a nice job. We went back to the goldsmith and this time he said the two little diamonds are in crooked and not securily put in. So now we have to drive up there again and probably will get the same attitude. We also were never told that my spouse's wedding band couldn't be sized. It can't worn on the ring finger and we've only been married for a month. We will probably have to leave the ring again for over a week.
