User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsFood is just alright, eventhough they say "Authentic Mexican", I do NOT think so. I have had better Mexican Food. The place is just crushed. If you are planning for a date or family time, do NOT go there. The reasons? Well, you won't be able to sit comfortably, relax, spread your legs and eat. But thats not too bad. The worse is that there is a fat old lady who keeps roaming around to see if people has finsihed their food and her look says it: LEAVE NOW. Not a good hospitality. The food is much pricey than any other Authentic mexican place. All is all, not a good place for date or family time or comfortable eating. If I have to spend that much money for what I get, I prefer McDonalds.

" a bit pricey is an understatement"-I'm not familiar with Mexican dinner with one round of margaritas costing $100. Go to the alternate up the road with your own BYOB!!!

El Sarape has excellent food and excellent margaritas (try the mango-yum) BUT it is small and they are not shy about asking you to clear out when you're done eating (even though we were still drinking)....which in my opinion is just about the rudest service one can have.
