This place is horrible... OUr dog still has dairrhea after 2 months. multiple vet vistis later, and they are stumped. I am beginning to think the dog has irritable bowel disease, or some other digestive issue. I think people shoud consider rescuing dogs from pet stores, as they would rescue from a shelter. We are now keeping the puppy on a strict dietary program. hoping to find that the puppy had an allergy or intolerance of some sort. to be continued
I've purchased 5 puppies from this store - allof them are excellent dogs. I have a Choc Lab(8 yrs old)an english mastiff (6 yrs old), a Long-haired St. Bernard (4 years old), an American Bulldog (2 years old), and a Jug (i year old). Maybe the first had a couple days of loose stolls, but that resolved itself quickly. Each one is true to their breed, well-adjusted, have had no heartl concerns, and are beautiful. The owner is a character, but in a good kind of way. He doesn't want you coming to taunt a dog day after day if you are not a serious customer. The poeple who commented above should go to a shelter or breeder. The place was recently remodled and though that presents challenges for cleaning the place (since they are not just wire cages anymore), the heigine is as good as you can expect
I wish this thing didnt MAKE me give a star, Playful Pets doesnt deserve ANY.
I had bought a puppy from Playful Pets this pas August. She came with medical records that said she had been treated for worms. The contract that was given to me states that I had ten days to take her to the vet and if there were any medical problems they would help pay the expenses. I took the puppy to the vet to find that she was full of round worms and that to completely treat the problem she would have to be treated with medicine through a couple of visits depending on the progress of the medicine. It is only 12.00 for each treatment but we contacted the manager of playful pets, Sam, and he was incredibly rude. He said that he would pay the twelve dollars for the one treatment but refused to pay for any other treatment because he thinks that the vet is "ripping us off." It's not the money thats really an issue here, its the fact that her papers say that Playful Pets treated her for worms and now her belly is FULL of them. It doesnt make any sense.
Aside from that, the store is a disgrace. It smells and the puppies are kept in horrible conditions. Thats why I bought her. I originally was taking my friend around to stores to find her a pet. I had no intentions of buying one myself. When I got into Playful Pets I was horrified. There are about 50 puppies in metal cages. No food or anything in the cages. Just the puppy or puppies and a little water dispenser (The kind they use for rabbits and guinea pigs). So I absolutely couldnt leave without buying a dog. I couldnt leave her there in that place. I am in no place to afford a dog but it had to be done.
The employees werent up to standards either. There was one lady who helped my friend and I. She seemed to know allot about the dogs. She was the only positive aspect about the place. But, the manager was incredibly rude. Not only to the customers, but to his employees too. I'm surprised he's still getting business.

Please Jon, do we actually believe that you are not the owner?
