Berks Lanes

i love berks lanes. ive been going there since i moved to the apartment complex next door to it, in 1999. before the remodel, it was very small with not that many lanes and a decent arcade. when colonial hills was closed down for the new 222 expansion, they merged with berks lanes and became better than ever. the arcade is huge, there are plenty of lanes, the food is good, bathrooms are always clean, there are at least 20 or more pool tables, im too young to know myself (im 20) but ive heard the adjacent bar is nice, the staff is friendly. the only problem is security tends to hover over teenagers, understandibly, but the few good ones (myself and friends included) find them to be annoying at times. they watched me light up a cigarette and actually asked if i was 18 and allowed to smoke, i showed them my ID and they laughed and walked away, and if you sit outside they will ask you a million times if your waiting for someone or a ride. other than that, i love berks lanes, its the best bowling alley in berks county.

Berks Lanes.. Not my favorite bowling alley but it gets the basic gist of a bowling alley... bowling. There are plenty of lanes, but areas besides the front desk aren't staffed well enough. While waiting at the ticket counter near the arcade,we had to wait nearly 20 mintues for a worker in a black belly-shirt with a cocky attitude to get our prizes. There are also some shady characters there. Finally, there is too much smoking. I'm not sure in Pennsylvania if you're allowed to smoke in public places. To sum it up, Berk's lanes is alright if you don't live near another bowling alley, but if you have another option, go ahead and take them.
