I recently bought a bike from mikes, first time in looking for a bike i was treated very well,i end up buying a 2008 883 sporster at just under list price,7,500 to find out 2 months later i realize the bike was too small and wanted to upgrade, they wanted to give me 2,500 less from what i paid,5k plus i had added hines exchaust and forward controls total cost about 1700,leaving me 9k into the bike they of course over look the options, they tried to trade me up on a used bike, but someone else bid hire for the bike,it was a good thing,i traded the bike in for a 2009 Kawasaki vulcan 900 although not a harley i am very pleased with it the ironee is Mike's ended up buying the bike from the dealership back for 200.00 more than i traded it in for, i got 7,200 for the bike and a brand new bike, they are way over priced, they lost my bussiness for sure
Ok but nothing special: Bikes are way over-priced, They sell a lot of them but it's location , location, location, not price. There is friendly atmosphere, they have a lot of very good employees and the hours are pretty good.
Service:If you bought your bike there you get much better service than if you had an emergency and that is where you ended up. I can't comment on the mechanics because I will never take my bike there but it used be real bad even a tire change was putting your life in thier hands. I had one bike ruined by them years ago and I know of a half a dozen other bikes that were damaged by the service department, but that was years ago.
They are slow too, I was told 30 days to get an estimate for an insurance claim.
Value: Buy a new bike there and you are joining a rare group of people, those who can lose money on a Harley. Example: You pay $5,000 over msrp for a Fatboy and decide you would rather have a different model, you can't re-sell it because you paid $21,000 for a $16,000 bike. So you are stuck taking a loss or waiting until you've paid yours down where you can trade it but you are still going to take a big loss.
