User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI had very high hopes for Striper Bites. Situated in lovely downtown historic Lewes, this restaurant is very beautiful. Granted, we arrived between lunch and dinner, but the waiter was gracious enough to take our lunch orders. We were in a hurry and wanted to grab a bite rather quickly. My friends ordered a delicious salad and a grilled chicken breast sandwich, both of which were very good. However, I ordered a burger well-done and it arrived medium. The blood ran as I cut the burger in two. One bite is all I could force down. The waiter was very kind and offered to send it back, but we had plans and didn't know if there would be time. The waiter sincerely felt bad and showed the ticket where he had written down "well done." It was the cook's fault, but I was surprised since I didn't eat the sandwich that he wouldn't offer to just write it off. Nevertheless, I paid for a "bloody" sandwich I didn't order. Perhaps on our next trip, we'll give them another try--for dinner (when we have more time).
