We had the pleasure of dining at the Bangkok House this evening and the food was absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!! Its very small and cozy, great for the family or a perfect place for two. The scallops are to die for and the coconut ice cream is quite a treat!!!!! If you haven't tried it yet, you just have to try this wonderful little place!!! You won't be disappointed.
Bangkok House is our favorite place in DE/& surrounding PA area to enjoy great Thai food. Those looking for Thai should not be fooled by the restaurant down the street with "Tai" in its name--here you'll find overpriced, Chinese style food than Thai there.
The Bangkok House is a small, no frills restaurant (just the kind we prefer) that offers a wide selection of well priced entrees & where the curry dishes rock! The service is always friendly (they have 1 very pleasant lady who takes care of the entire place and this is sometimes complimented by the ever so kind owner, Tom). They always seem to manage even when the place is full. They remind clients that the food is made to order so they ask for patience--however, in our experience, the timing has never been an issue (it is on par or better with other dining experience waits). Call ahead to make sure they are open. They do close down several times a year to enjoy some time away.
For those imbibing, the only improvement could be the wine selection & caution when ordering the red- it is usually on the chilly side. If you want cold, go for the Thai beer or Thai iced tea instead!
The staff is super friendly and the food is wonderful. I always end up coming back for more. Safe to bring the kids here, not to formal or stuffy =)
