User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI live in Virginia and was traveling on vacation to the beach. My car is a 1991 BMW 735iL. The belts blew and I just pulled over into First State, thinking I had hit the lottery with the timing. We then hitched a ride and had our vacation. They called and I was charged $651.00 for a water pump and belt replacement. The labor and diagnostic charge was over $440!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They knew I had no options, and it was probably a $250 to $300 dollar job. I could have towed it somewhere else, but then I would be where I was, around $600. So, First State, you got me this time, but I will salute you every time I go past you for the rest of my life.
This was a gouge job, just taking advantage of my situation.
