OVER RATED BEEN THERE IT IS NOT WORTH THE WAIT ....THEY PILE ALL THE FOOD IN ONE BIG BLOB ON THE PLATE . I DO NOT GET IT WHY THIS PLACE IS BUSY.
After a few word of mouth recommendations, we headed to Big Fish. The menu looks great with tons of fresh fish to choose from. Unfortunately, the taste didn't quite match expectations. My wife got the caramelized salmon. It tasted good but was a bit dry. I had the lobster bisque which was very good. But then I had the yellowfin tuna. The tuna itself was prepared well and tasted good. Unfortunately it was served over mashed potatoes. Now, the potatoes were pretty good. But rare tuna and mashed potatoes just don't mix together, at all. Ever. I guess I should have realized this on the menu. But the chef really should already know this. If my wife's dish was cooked right then I would have given this 4 stars. But they botched two meals, one by overcooking, and one with poor taste. The place has potential. It really needs a better head chef with better ideas and quality control.
I've given BFG several tries over the years and each time - I keep wondering why I give them a second or third chance.
They over cook the fish to the point where its dry. There's nothing like taking a perfectly good fish and ruining it by over cooking it. BFG needs a lesson on how to cook fish.
If you drink lots of wine/beer - sure you can eat the fish there because you're probably so drunk you can't taste what you're eating.
Fins on Rehoboth Ave is a much better place for seafood.
BFG is busy and noisy. The waits are long and its not worth the headache for poorly cooked fish.

I do not agree at all. I go there every year with my family and we always order the tuna knowing that it comes with delicious mashed potatoes!
