I've been to Franger's many times. There was always somebody to answer my questions on how to fix something or get a project going. The right tool for the job makes a big difference. Never have they tried to sell me something I didn't need. If you need advice, Frager's is the place to go.
Frager's is top notch. I live down the street from a giant Home Depot - less than a half mile away - and we only go there if we absolutely HAVE to. With Frager's, though, we are willing to drive the extra mile and a half through DC traffic just to get the service, expertise, and comfort of shopping in a store that is happy to have you there.
They have helped over and over. We did a DIY project to water proof our basement and they helped step by step. Their prices are just as good as the big box store, but you get people that will help you and listen to you.
I had a great experience at Frager's as well as their Benjamin Moore paint shop. I would recommend it to anyone. You can find anything you need, and if you're even slightly confused, the friendly staff will extend all courtesies to you. They were great! Frager's is the best!
I always find what I am looking for at this hardware store. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help you find whatever it is you need. It doesn't matter what the item costs, you get the same level of professional and courteous service and I am never disappointed. I can't say the same thing for Home Depot or Lowes. This store has the feel of a small town hardware store, but it is located in one of Washington, DC's highly sought after neighborhoods. This is a symbol of how a retail business should be and there wouldn't be a need for the overload of TV commercials the other stores have to resort to.
This is the best hardward store in the DC Metro area without doubt. They always have anything and everything I need. It is fun to just browse around on weekends and talk to the friendly staff. CHECK IT OUT!!!
Excellent Garden store: Frager's is a great hardware store overall--they have everything one needs packed in to the store. But best of all is the garden store--incredible staff and a great variety of flowers, trees, etc all year long!
a true community asset: Try going to a big box store and getting help finding the right 10 cent screw or bolt out of thousands. You won't. Try it at Frager's and you will get knowledgeable help and a smile. There are always more than enough employees ready, able and willing to help you find anything and explain how to use it. You just can't beat this kind of service. It's rate today.
Authentic, old-school hardware store: This place makes me miss Strausser's Hardware in Kansas City, my hometown. Great selection, funky & unique, with excellent real-people service. It's one-of-a-kind -- something that's rarer and rarer in our big-box retailer world.
