For Trinidadian food, it's so-so. For a non Trini or West Indian, it's a good start. The food i.e. dinner of fish is a bit pricey. I don't like the fact that they don't have some common dishes i.e. oil down, pelau, dahl or saltfish. How Trini is the food if they don't have pelau?
I have been there several times and the customer service needs HUGE improvements. The waitress, who I have had a few times, operates like she's in Trinidad; bad!
I also find it odd, that a Trinidadian restaurant would have live jazz as opposed to soca/calypso.
Pretty Decent Caribbean Food: We went on a Saturday night so there was free live jazz/caribbean music. The band was pretty good and very entertaining. As for the food, my husband ordered chicken and they gave him one big piece that turned out to be filled with a big bone... not much meat but he said it tasted good. Our friend liked the goat. We loved the plaintain. I got the vegetarian/vegan meal. Didn't like the raw cabbage with onions but the greens and rice were good.
I probably wouldn't go back just b/c I like to spend my money on exceptional food as opposed to just good food. But, it was nice, service a little slow and forgetful... but pleasant.
food was off tha hook!!!!!: i have no dislikes about this place..... everytime i go there i get a pleasant experience and i would reccomend that anyone who has never got great service with a trinidadian twist that you should go..
