I did not want to give any personal information, as I feel it would be unnecessary given the circumstances. I am the parent of a Georgetown student, and had heard that Mr. Smith's was a good alternative to the college bars that are frequent in the area. Upon my arrival, I was only greeted with hostility, especially from the two men out front checking IDs. In retrospect, I should have immediately taken all of my family and those with us to another location that was more hospitable. The two men out front had the audacity to question my son's identification, and even offered him the opportunity to purchase it at a substantial price. I was not aware that such practices were legal, and am very disappointed in how things were run. Granted, the atmosphere inside was nice, but the initial impression given by those 'manning' the doors left a sour taste in my mouth. I recognize that they might have only been trying to do their jobs, but the way they conducted themselves was anything but despicable. I am willing to bring my family back to this location the next time I am in town, but am extremely disappointed in this establishment.
