| About: | Classy and contemporary, Modern is an extremely popular lounge in Washington. The lighting is dim and the decor is subtle, with white curtains and beige leather seats and the music is an interesting melange of funk, soul, hip-hop and house. The drinks are steep but worth it - the ambience makes up for the prices. If you need a break from regular night spots, this place is the answer for you. |

User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsModern is a hidden Gem in Georgetown: I absolutely love Modern. This is my Thursday night hang out. But Fridays are awesome too. On Thursdays there is no dress code. It is free till midnight for girls. There are the b-boys or breakdancers that get the night going till about 12:30am then everyone else hops on the dance floor. It is the realest vibe ive found in DC.
On Fridays there are no breakers and they play off the hook hip hop, old and new school. There is a dress code and gets pretty crowded but not so crowded that you cant dance.
