User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI grew up in Riverdale a half century ago, so I know about Dumms Corner and the working class, unpretentious character of the locals.
Though I want to like the Pizza joint attached to Dumms (it has that hometown on-the-corner atmosphere) the fact is that neither the pies nor the subs are very good.
The pizza is inconsistent and bland. The subs are substantial in volume but the bread and ingredients are indifferent.
This has nothing to do with food snobbery or the gastronomic predilictions of the dread Yuppie.
The fact is that plenty of working class neighborhoods (in NY, Philly, NJ, Mass) have local delis and pizza places that turn out great food on a regular basis.
Dumms just aint one of 'em.-

Love their food. The subs are great. Highly recommend the rib eye steak and cheese with mushrooms and bacon. Great combo. Their pizza is pretty good also.

Not for yuppies.: Great food and good people. The grilled chicken (Provalone, ranch dressing, saute'd onions and hot peppers :) )sub is the best in the area. Leave your pretentious attitude at the door. If the place is packed, prepare to wait a lil' while (not too long). It's not Shatteau Le' Yuppe', so don't expect candles and lounge singer. Great food at better prices.
