The service department is dishonest and overcharges for their work - this is typical of dealers but Ourisman is very close to crossing the fraud line. The service dept. told me that both of my front CV joints were worn and needed to be replaced and quoted me $1460.00. The same day, I took my car to 2 other non-dealer auto mechanics, and called a third. The 2 others who looked at my car questioned why Ourisman wanted to replace both joints when only one was damaged/worn and all three businesses quoted much less for parts and labor, $190, $215 and $250 respectively. I purchased my vehicle from the Ourisman in Laurel in 2004. After the purchase, the staff their was so rude that I started to bring it to Bethesda Ourisman for servicing. Now, in wake of the bad economy, its very obvious how Ourisman is making up their lack of revenue from new car sales. Consumer Beware and Be informed.
Awful doesn't begin to describe my experience with Ourisman's service department. They have misdiagnosed and overcharged me for a problem for about a month. Now, a month and $2700 later, I have a car that has not been fixed at another dealership. They were absolutely relentless and unconcionable in their behavior. They charged me $500 dollars one in correct fix of a misdiagnosis, and refused to take the parts out after discovering they were wrong. Then, after another misdiagnosis, they told me I'd need a new fuel pump. Concerned about both the diagnosis and the quoted price, I called another dealership nearby. Not only did the other dealership quote me a price that was nearly $400 less, but they said the diagnosis didn't sound right either. I'd recommend staying as far away from Ourisman's service as possible.
Honda not only lied to us but they endangered our lives. They waited weeks after we purchased the car to submit our loan paperwork, we gave them our first payment to submit with it and they cashed it but waited until it was late and we were threatened with repossession before sending it to the bank. They neglected to give us the roadside assistance paperwork and a week after purchasing it we needed it desperately. We got stranded on the side of the road and called them to get the phone number and was put on hold for 10 minutes and hung up on, called again and was put in someone's voicemail, called again and was put on hold and then hung up on...all while in horrible area of town at night, a woman alone. They spelled address wrong on the registration and I never got the paperwork and had to pay to get it corrected. Not a single person called us back EVER. I called to complain to the manager of the store and all I got was a voicemail from the service manager stating his name and that he was calling back.
I will never do business or allow any friend to do business with Ourisman ANYTHING. If you spend $17,000 and leave feeling insulted, and a month later have had to make 10-13 nasty phone calls to get them to do their job, it's NOT a good experience.
