DON'T EAT HERE. Awful - awful - awful. Bad food at high prices and terrible service.
Create everlasting memories at the Old Angler Inn: Fare fit for the spender and delicious with nice presentation, appetizers and salads great, the Rockfish and particularly the Halibut are my favorites. But here is the cool thing about the Old Angler Inn. O.A.I. is a cozy little country home converted into an Inn adjacent to the the C&O canal (walking distance from my house). I do not drink, but the patio is terrific on cool summer and spring evenings, candles and a large water fountain with soothing sounds and intmate lighting. It is also a great place to have lunch after biking or after a hike along the tow path or Billy Goat treks. The mgmt added a beer garden behind the entrance. with live music on a new large stone patio w/ a stone bar in 2006. In the eveing the 1st floor has a dimly lit lounge/tea room with comfy chairs and couches and a large fireplace that warms the place and the moment. When not crowded, this room is perhaps the best (or maybe the worst lol) to work your romantic mojo. In the past 20 years, chilling out in that room after a movie or dinner, has led to more first kisses than I can remember, truly wonderful memories can be created here. On a side note I asked my ex wife to marry me there. I also had a first kiss in the parking lot after spending a couple hours in the warm room on the 1st floor with a woman that in the years that followed, absolutely broke my heart at a time when I was vulnerable to be slammed. I remember her in my prayers and I will be forever grateful for having met her inspite of the history. She also introduced me to Islam that very evening Alhamdalillah; So for great food, a most romantic and cozy setting, live music and a low key sophisticated 35yrs+ singles hang out on Friday and Saturday nights in the summer, awesome wine list ( I used to be a wine conneisure ;-) a place to creat ever lasting memories or for special occasions...Old Angler Inn is #1 in my book.
