This place is exactly what I expected it to be. I drive by Hank's all the time and I look inside. I see dank, dank and more dank, not to mention a pinball machine (the trump card). I finally went and it satisfied all my desires. They have cheap beer, rickety wooden benches and friendly people. The only setbacks are the lack of food and the fact that they don't take credit cards. However, it's a perfect little bar. A lot of bars these days are pretentious; they force their own views/tastes on you. This place doesn't do that at all. You will feel comfortable coming here, trust me! I'll give this the bump to 5 stars soon...
LOVE THIS PLACE: Me and my boyfriend love this bar. That song by toby keith describes this place for me. my boyfriend lives there pretty much. he loves the ppol table.
Friendly neighborhood bar: I hear that Dietle's has been there for almost 100 years. There's a reason for that - it's a traditional barroom that sticks to basics. It's the kind of place you can walk into not knowing anyone, and within minutes have a friendly conversation with virtually anyone in the place. It's a low-key place to have a cold beer (often kept on ice), maybe play a game of pool, spend an afternoon or evening on the porch enjoying the sunshine or fresh air and comaradery of genuine people.
I've seen bikers to bankers in the place, all enjoying themselves. There's never any friction.
The bartenders are all friendly and efficient.
Dietle's is comfortable from the minute you step through the door. If you're looking for a place to have a couple of beers, get away from any other pressure in your life, this is the place.
