Casa DE Montessori

This is a decent program for kids that are very motivated to learn. However, If your children need assistance to get motivated, then this is not the school for you. Our child attended this school and the teachers did not provide any help in getting my child to start the learning process. They instead taught her how to clean and play with blocks. When my child left this school at the age of 5.... my child could not read and did not know the alphabet and was unable to do simple math. We then put our child in a public school in Silver Spring and what a difference that made. Our child is now in the 1st grade and is in all the advanced classes. My child will soon start reading and math on the 3rd grade level (almost done with 2nd grade level) while in the 1st grade. Casa ignored my child and never spent any time trying to encourage my child to read or perform simple math. If they would have only spent a little time with my child, then they would have realized my child is smart and was ready to learn.
However kids that are reading at Casa which is rare at this age are the children they continue to stimulate and spend all the time with. If your sending a child around 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old, then this would be a good experience. Since the older kids are helpful to the young ones. Once your child turns 5, then this place can do more harm than good for a developing child. The main teacher/owner and her assistant are good, but the others are not. The support staff with the exception of Mrs. Newell and Genie are lazy people that drag this place down. After care is scary, since the lazy staff would not know if your child went missing until you come to pick them up and realized they were gone.
I am not alone with this assessment of Casa, since many other parents have the same experience I did. I am so happy I took my child out of Casa and it really worked out for us.

Check this school out thoroughly, before sending your children here. Since there are better schools and day care nearby like Dee Dee's Place on New Hampshire Ave..
