I have to say I have fond childhood memories every Tuesday night at The Corner Pub. When Marty (I believe that was his name) owned The Corner Pub, he had two ladies who were very friendly servers Yolanda, and (I forget the other lady’s name) back in the 80's and 90's. I loved their pizza, parmesan cheese, onion rings and fried chicken wings with a side of bbq sauce.
Ever since the place was sold to Randy and his Asian wife (who I think left him?), the place is no longer friendly, the food honestly sucks!!!!, it was ok in the beginning, but he then changed 20 years of recipes and products to cheaper cost and you can tell. Do me a favor if you think I'm lying... next time you are there open the parmesan cheese lid and smell it. 90% of the time it smells moldy and you can sometimes see the mold. I brought this to Randy’s attention and he was reluctant on giving me a different jar of parmesan cheese. I've had a few other problems with Randys' attitude. As far as I'm concerned he is a fat slob who runs his establishment with the same mind set as he runs his body, but hey who am I to judge.... he is the one who owns it not me.
There is a better place and its not too far down the road from The Corner Pub, another yahooer posted it before me The Stained Glass Pub in Glenmont @ the corner of Layhill Rd. and Georgia Ave. Half priced pizza on Mondays and Tuesdays (with a drink PURCHASE for ALL guests), Half priced burgers on Wednesdays. A little further drive, not being able to get 1/2 price pizza on Thursdays, drinking bad wine, not having to argue with an owner on a weekly basis is worth my time and health.... what about yours?
I wish Randy the best of luck, but if he keeps running his business the way he is, his luck may run out!

We just got back (on a Thursday) from this place. We requested 3 different empty tables and were told they were for larger parties. We never saw any larger parties. We were seated in the middle of the floor, bumped by the wait staff several times but the owner would not give us any of these tables that remained empty during our stay. Before we had finished our drinks and half of our pizza we decided to leave. We requested a box and a check. His response was to place the dirty styrofoam container ON TOP OF THE PIZZA!!!! We told him it was a filthy thing to do, he cursed us and told us not to come back to his restaurant. Paid the waitress and left her a minimal tip, turned the pizza upside down on the table and left. Go there if you like to pay for abuse.

It's not worth it. I found a better pizza joint, better priced and definitely a lot nicer to its customers. The owner (well he shares ownership with his wife) is not very hospitable, service is not always attentive unless you spend big on drinks. The pizza is over rated, the crust is very thin and it is very greasy.
