This was the worst car buying experience ever. Be prepared for aggressive tactics and unbelieveable pressure. Have all of your facts/documented research before contacting/visiting this dealer, i.e. trade-in value, what others are paying for the vehicle and interest rate offers. I also recommend declining the extended warranty for new vehicle purchases. Good luck and trust your instincts!
I had a horrible experience with Jim Coleman's Honda when I wanted to test drive a new Accord. My friend, who had just purchased a car from the Internet Dept. there, took me to Jim Coleman's thinking they would treat me well.
Well, of course, the exact opposite happened. They asked me my annual salary and wanted me to fill out a credit release form, before I even got to look at an Accord! I sat with two different salesmen for an hour before getting to test drive the car.
I do not think a credit release form is necessary for a simple test drive. Knowledge of my salary should not be a prerequisite for anyone at Jim Coleman's just so I can drive around the block with a salesman riding shotgun.
I made the mistake of giving the salesmen my actual work number, which dials directly to my desk at work. Jim Coleman's Honda called often and the two salesmen even called back-to-back to pressure me. It was especially bad when I told them I already purchased my new car elsewhere. I politely told the first salesman of my final decision, and the second salesman called back just to say a terse word or two. Just horrible!
Lesson for the day: Do not give these guys your phone number. They will do their best to make your car buying experience as hostile as possible. Better lesson: Do not buy from Jim Coleman's Honda.
Very dissapointed... Bought a new 2009 Honda CRV, they put a coating on the car that cost $700 to protect the paint. Found out the next day that they didn't even remove all of the glue on the paint from the factory. Brought it back on my weekend to have it redone; they failed to do it right the second time and wanted us to bring it back... One week later, the keyless entry and remote start will not even work. DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALER...
