This has to be the worst apt complex ever! They are the biggest rip off. I can't believe I wasted my money living here. 200 dollars for the tennis court, pool, and gym regardless if you used them or not. Rent is so expensive we could have rented a house! Not to mention that we have electric heat and froze all winter and had electric bills in the 400's. Save your money!
Avoid at all costs!! When I say costs I mean they will hide fees and nickle and dime you into poverty. It looks good at first until you see that the space is ala-carte you pay extra for everything!!
eg. pet rent-not deposit mind you "pet rent"??? why
--no one can get to your door (eg.pizza delivery) or anyone else unless you pay for access to the security system which includes the door buzzer you have to stand outside and wait for them!!
--pay to park!!
-- mandatory fees to use the existing facilities (workout room pool tennis) if you intend to use them or not!!
--management is nothing less than criminal and more difficult to work with than the MVA
-- they even put in the contract penalties for talking bad about the complex--as if they knew it was coming!!! can you say violation of free speech!!
I would not waste my time writing this if I were not truly looking to save someone else the heartache from getting involved with this corrupt corp.
Read the whole thing. It's a little hostile, but that's because I am pissed off.
MILITARY BEWARE!!! Reservists stay away! They won't accept those reqular orders that you get from your command if you need to terminate early.
Horrible. You are guaranteed to get charged for something and NOT get your full security deposit back. I guarantee it, since I am the cleanest person ever and basically didn't even live there since my husband couldn't. That apartment was left better than we got it and read below what happened...
Again, MILITARY BEWARE!!! Reservists stay away! They won't accept those reqular orders that you get from your command if you need to terminate early.
They also nickel and dimed us for things that were not because of us. My husband was on active orders for the reserve and lived on post in the barracks for those three months. I slept on an air mattress. I ate on post with my husband. I worked almost every day. And yet, they claim that there was oil stains in the carpet and that there was damage to the cabinets. We had to pay an extra month of rent because they would not accept the military documentation that we had for my husband to report to California.
I especially want to stress my disappointment to anyone with military affiliation. They take you for all your worth. It seemed so great in the beginning and turned into a nightmare. And we can try to dispute the charges, but it would be a waste of time. The apartment's in Maryland and we are in California.
Communities that I do RECOMMEND are any be Avalon, Sares Regis or Archstone. We currently live in an Avalon community and they are spectacular. It's like living in a resort. We have lived in complexes operated by the other communities that I mentioned and they were awesome too! It won't cost you much more than a shallack of an apartment down the street and you won't get ripped off, unlike the UDR community of Arborview.
I hope that this has been helpful for others and saves them from getting nickel and dimed like we were.
