This is another good place for meeting with family and friends. The food is great. I caught a fun jazz performance one night that highlighted the experience.
I have brunch at Donna's several times a month with my girlfriends (and now our babies). It has a terrific menu, and in years of going, we have never had a bad meal or beverage. The chicken salad with couscous and pistachios is unique and delicious. The breakfast frittata is always fresh and yummy, and all of the varieties of potato side dishes are good, too. Donna's is the kind of place you can sit for hours and visit. The servers are helpful, but they don't hover, so if you need something mid-meal, you may have to work to get back on their radar.
This place was a big surprise. We never bothered to try Donna's in the past because we figured that a coffee shop normally doesn't produce that good of food. Boy were we wrong. We decided to try them due to our Entertainment card and we have been back twice.
The menu has a Mediterranean influence. The first time I tried a Salmon dish and the second time I tried the paella. Both meals were excellent. My only issue with either meal was that the paella was made with a rosotto rice instead of the normal saffran rice but it tasted great.
My wife's dishes were just as good. The menu may be a little pricey for a "coffee shop" but it is well worth it. One of the best things is that unlike most good restaurants their children's menu was very reasonable. I HATE going to a good restaurant with my daughter and paying $8 - $10 for buttered pasta or chicken fingers when they don't taste any better then they would in a cheap restaurant. Everything on Donna's kids menu was very reasonable.
