The food here is always good and the prices are fair. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night call ahead to make a reservation or you could end up waiting an hour. They also have dinning outside in the summer which is rare in Columbia.***I'm lowering my rating because of the poor service I got on my last visit. I'm going to have to agree with "newlocal" the service outside was pretty bad.

Nice setting by the lake. Restaurant had a nice ambiance, but could use a little tidying up ... it seemed a little dirty. Food was good for the most part, but not spectacular. Some of the entrees were really good. I had a clyde's variation on a philly steak sandwich, and it was really good. The meat was moist and had good flavor. Unfortunately, my wife had a turkey apple sausage burger that did not impress. It was lacking taste and salt, and we could barely taste the apple. We did also get some type of coconut (i think) bread/cake which was absolutely delicious. Not sure what that was, but it was really good ... probably highlight of the meal.

About the service ... it was a slower day when we went, so we had an attentive waitress ... too attentive. She basically just hovered around our table the entire time and it was somewhat uncomfortable. I think she meant well, but it made the experience awkward. The bathrooms could also use some cleaning. At a restaurant like this, I'd expect something like the restroom to very clean, but it was not.

Had a good experience for a work lunch, so I thought I would take my Husband there for his birthday dinner. Very nice location on the lake! What a difference!!! Maybe you have to be a "regular" to receive attention, the service person we had acted like she was on her way out the door and was just doing us this one favor. Eye contact was never made, so it was extremely difficult to get her attention, even just to get some silverware!
My entree was totally unacceptable, but who knew when I would get another? Husband said his was OK, but not worth it.
Both of us went home and ate ice cream. I re-did my husband's birthday dinner somewhere else later because I felt so bad about this experience. Hope Columbia offers a better "occasion" restuarant that this!!!
