SILVER SHADOWS was an EXCELLENT night club!!!
BMX is NOTHING like Silver Shadows: the calibre of clientele they attract is different--though they pull in one or two visiting celebs in the area occasionally to elevate their status but it is nothing like Silver Shadows; the owners are not of the same calibre of Silver Shadows' owner and it is certainly NOT an over 30 club, as reflected in the music genre and the style of dress of its patrons. The first and only time I went there in October 2011, I took friends there visiting from both California and New York and I've never been so apologetic to them, merely over the fact there was no place to even sit unless you paid money to reserve special rooms that resembled bedrooms or living rooms with lounge sofas. It reminded me of a great haven for pimps and vixens to mingle among others who seek a safe, upscale setting. This place is not upscale and I felt that a fight would break out any moment if someone stepped on another person's foot. Everyone stood around holding drinks in their hands since there were no tables to sit at and place your drinks and socialize. To reiterate: BMX IS NOTHING LIKE OUR BELOVED SILVER SHADOWS!! Silver Shadows had it all: class, sophistication, a safe ambience, and great music for an older crowd, including live music on Friday nights. BMX is great for those who like that type of atmosphere but it's not a Silver Shadow by an inch.

Back in September 2009 I was told about Silver Shadows. The first time I stepped foot in the club I know it was the club for me. So once a month whenever a close friend of mine came into town for a visit, I would take him there We would party until the doors closed. We had a great time. The over 30 crowd, the dress code and music was just the right speed. So you can imagine how shocked and disappointed we were to drive up one Saturday night in Jan, to get our grove on and find the doors locked shut. Where did everybody go???? I am looking for where the hot spot is now. We are looking for the same over 30 crowd, with a dress code that plays the best Old school and R&B in the Maryland, D.C. area. Can anyone make a suggestion?
Bumping. My SO told me last night it closed. What the heck happened and now where do we go?!!?!?!?!?!? I would rather not trek all the way to D.C. Very sad.......
