Cure for Cancer: I think that the Emerald City Cafe is destined for greatness with the recent finding of the cure for cancer or something else spectacular. I am not sure if it's the cure for cancer, but their rye bread must do something absolutly special. They charge an extra 60 cents per sandwich when you select rye bread as your choice for your sandwich. Rye bread more than muffins, sub rolls, wheat bread , what is next? Will they open a bag of M and M's and charge more for the yellow , orange, and red ones?
I was at Target last night...: I was at target last night and I picked up a pack of Starburst Original Fruit Chews for 49 Cents; I thought to myself wow I got the same exact pack of STarburst at the Emerald City Cafe for 89 cents just yesterday. I am not one to complain about money but when an item is marked up almost double the value I have to ask myself, What is going on here? I often find myself hungry at work but I cannot resort to the Emerald City Cafe. I can order Panda Express and get General TSo's chicken meal(a much greater helping than Emerald City) for almost $3 cheaper.
Emerald City Cafe - add on to ccstunna7's review: I agree. WOW! The term "everything has a price," comes to life at the Emerald City Cafe. They will charge you from a piece of chesse for $.75, to bacon strips for $1.75! I am afraid to pick up a ketchup packet on the way out of the door! The service is good, but as for the food quality, quantity, and atmosphere, I can say that although the cheeseburger has a good taste and adequate size, you better like "super well done" everytime. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak sub also has a good taste, but it looks like it belongs on the Jr. menu! The atmosphere is a muggy escape from a better environment that you can probably get eating at your desk. And ccstunna7 is correct - don't bring your Keno money here.
