I purchased a snowblower from them, and when I first tried to use it a few months later, it would run for 30 seconds and die. I called to ask for advice and was told it was probably my fault (yeah, right), but for $35 they'd come look at it. Since I'd paid $1000 for the machine and it was under warranty, and additional $35 for a machine that didn't work seemed unreasonable at best. After a call to the manufacturer I discovered Jack's had failed to include or install the venting device for the fuel cap. The manufacturer called a competitor in my area who was kind enough to drop off the part on his way home (free of charge). Would I deal with Jack's again? Not even at gunpoint. They have no concern for either their reputation or for the customer, and there are enough honest and professional competitors in the area to satisfy any future needs.
VERY IRRITATED, After attempts to locate part at multiple locations I called Jack's and was told it was in stock. The individual I spoke with stated she had it in her hand and reserved it for me. After a 30 min. drive to pick up the part I needed I was told by the man at the counter that it was reserved for SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! This man said he could help me and then refused to do so. I had no opportunity to speak with the person I spoke with on the phone and had no explanation of what actually happened. I needed the part to satisfy a client, whom I have probably lost their business; so, I can say this "Jack's Small Engines & Generators has surely lost mine!"
