| About: | One of the best restaurants in Maryland is located just two miles from I-95 exit 74 at Mountain Branch Golf Course - 20 minutes from Baltimore. Constructed out of three acres of Oregon's finest Douglas Fir, the historic-looking timber-pegged post and beam structure has high ceilings, multilevel architecture and a magnificent view. The Grille & Pub at Mountain Branch is a favorite for relaxing after a round of golf and is an ever-popular destination for lunch, dinner and late night. Spacious patios afford dining al fresco when the weather is mild. And when winter winds are blowing, a large fireplace keeps the inside warm and cozy. The American-classic menu offers a diverse mix of tastes, including soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as fresh fish, crab cakes and Angus beef. Our chefs take pride in keeping the offerings creative and interesting - taking full advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients. |

We had reservations for Sunday brunch for a special occasion. We arrived at our reservation time but had to wait about 10 minutes while they "got our table ready". The restaurant and location is beautiful but the staff seemed unfriendly and uncaring. We were very disappointed in the food itself. Buffet choices were few and were not kept fresh or refilled. Rolls, eggs benedict were dried out and stuck to the warming pan as they had been sitting so long. Even though we arrived mid brunch time (12:30) some dishes were empty but never refilled. Perhaps the economic times? We will not be going back.
I had my Wedding reception in the club, they are great! The food was good, staff was responsive. I highly recommend this place for events. Also the food in the restaurant is good.
01-04-08 Disappointed. Having gone to Mountain Branch many times over the past few years we were expecting the same level of service and quality of food that we had experienced previously. However, this was not the case. Our server was not particularly attentive, and this was surprising because the place was virtually empty. When he asked how my meal was I noted that my "blackened" fish was overly spiced and burned. He remarked "Well, you know it is blackened and that means it is spicy." I remarked that I often get my fish blackened and this was "overdosed" on the spices. Several of my guests sampled it and remarked that it was if the box of spices had been poured on it. Instead of offering to have it fixed, he brought out some cream sauce to cover it and "mellow it out". The appetizer, a seafood quesadilla, was heavy on the mayo/cheese/sauce and light on the seafood. Unfortunately, the general appearance and ambiance of the restaurant has also declined. The condition of the furniture is beginning to show wear. Our large table had a black, vinyl-like covering that had been torn revealing the unfinished wood underneath. The seats were a little uncomfortable and worn. To their credit, at the end of the meal the manager came over to check in and asked how we liked our experience. I shared my disappointment, and I was offered a gift certificate for the cost of my meal. Even with this credit, I don't think we will be returning. There are many other places in the Bel Air area that now offer better food, better service, better value and a better experience.
