This is a great restaurant!! I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. The food, service, the atmosphere....wow. I fully recommend you put this spot on your places to try. You wont regret it.
If you want to escape traditional Americana, this is it! Ixia appeals to the senses both visually and to the palate. The french infusion is evident in the use of sauces and seasonings from Appetizers to Entrees.
Ixia's spirits expert has won awards and I really enjoyed the martinis. My European friends will be right at home here! I had grilled squid for an appetizer and skate for the entree; simply awesome! The menus change to keep people coming back for something new. I give it my top rating! Enjoy...
my first encounter with ixia was during restaurant week, one of my favorite weeks of the year as i get to sample restaurants i've not been to yet. when you first enter, you're met with a wonderful ambiance that screams both class and comfort as well as modern chic. the bar sitting/waiting area was festooned with a tastefully chaotic collection of brightly colored and unique seats while the actual dining area seemed a world apart with crisp white table cloths and linens, and sturdy, comfortable chairs.
now on to my favorite part of the evening. the food. the three coarse meal--with paired wines--was phenomenal, starting off with a light salad. the main course, which was by far my favorite, consisted of crispy skin salmon over a wonderful squash puree. the tastes melded perfectly with one another and the salmon was perfectly prepared and flaked nicely. the dessert, a warm mud brownie with a dish of chocolate sorbet, wonderfully cleansed the palate after the rich meal.
my only negative on the entire evening was the final wine choice which was paired with the chocolate mud brownie. while i do enjoy a nice glass of wine during my meal, i'm certainly no connoisseur, however the desert port left a foul taste in my mouth and i felt could have been left off the menu.
all in all, my experience with ixia was a great one and i would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone and i heartily give 5 stars.
