| About: | The pleasantly straightforward, starched-linen and fresh-flower atmosphere at this Little Italy landmark lets you know that you're in an old-school restaurant. The menu is full of old favorites - Ravioli and a Veal Parmesan that's truly noteworthy. Even the house specialties, such as the legendary Bookmaker Salad - shrimp, salami and provolone topped with a cheese dressing over crisp iceberg lettuce - has a comfortable familiarity. The chef isn't breaking any new ground here, but then again, why try to improve on the classics? |

Service was friendly, but the food was horrible. The pot of Ragu sauce was poured into my pasta plate and the chicken was inedible. This puts Italian food to shame. My family and I were so disappointed that we wanted to experience real authentic Italian food in Little Italy and instead got garbage for food. I could not believe that they serve butter with cold bread and when you ask for oil, forget about getting olive oil, the oil was almost white in color you can see your reflection.
I have been going to Sab's ever since I was a little girl. It is family owned which gives it a cozy, friendly atmosphere. It is like sitting in on a sunday family pasta dinner. the garlic bread is to die for!! My favorite dish is pan fried shrimp parm. I have always gotten a great meal, great service, and delicious food!!
Went here for a banquet, was thoroughly disappointed. Ordered some sort of chicken pasta in a red sauce - The chicken was in big chunks and offered very little in the flavor department and the sauce was forgettable, both tasted and looked as though it were straight out of a jar. For dessert we were given a sort of rum ice cream/cake which was disgusting, tasted and smelled almost like straight liquor. If you're looking for a nice meal in Little Italy, this is not the place. The only other place I've been was Veleggia's and it was much better.
