About:This stately mansion was built in 1801 by Charles Carroll Jr., whose father signed the Declaration of Independence. Today, the home is a National Historic Landmark. The home is a sight to behold, with delicate moldings and period furnishings that date to the 18th and 19th centuries. Visitors will be delighted to learn that some of the pieces are original to the home.
