| About: | Baltimore is a patchwork of vibrant ethnic neighborhoods, and one of the most delightful ways they celebrate their different heritages is through their restaurants. Ikaros, located in East Baltimore's Greek enclave is one of the best of these. For years, this quietly elegant establishment, with its cool white walls and darkly polished furnishings, has been serving some of the most sumptuous meals in town. The seafood, wrapped in phyllo sheets, is both delicate and savory, and the Moussaka is simply the stuff of legend. |

Excellent all around: Last night as the first time I've been to Ikaros and I would recommend it to anyone looking for some great food at a great value. The food is flavorful through adn through, and the portion size generous (cold leftovers are still delicious). The ambiance had an instant familiarity and comfort to it. Our server was wonderful--gracious, sweet, and helpful--and the over all experience was excellent. I'm excited to go back again to try out some of the different dishes.
Great Restaurant: They opened on '69. I did not find it until '70, and have been going there since. In over 100 meals I have yet to be dissapointed. Excellent food, gracious service.
Unless there are four at the table, get the small Greek Village Salad. I like it with a side of anchovies.
The seafood in filo dough is as good as it gets.
For celebrations get an appetizer of Saganaki.
Price, performance, service and atmosphere, you can't go wrong. Tell Zenos that Pete sent you.
