I ate at the Boulevard Diner frequently before moving to Ft. Lauderdale six years ago. I always left the bright, immaculate, "60's" diner with a smile after the cheerful, prompt service and a generous, hearty, affordable home cooked meal. I allowed extra time to peruse the extensive menu, since there were so many delicious choices. Desserts, created on the premises, top off any meal or become a meal in themselves. Most customers leave with a "doggy bag" for another meal at home.

Some months ago I went to the diner under very sad circumstances. My brother and I decided at the last minute to use the diner for a luncheon after my father's funeral. I knew that there was a room in the rear for special private occasions. The operators, Sal and his son Mark, won my brother and me over with a complimentary bowl of hot soup the day before. It was more like talking with family than arranging business. Both were very sincere and attentive to our requests. They graciously presented us with several of their best dishes to offer our guests at very reasonable prices.

Only on the morning of the funeral, we notified their banquet manager of the approximate time to expect our group. When we arrived everything flowed effortlessly. Tablecloths gave the room a formal look. The wait staff was very courteous and considerate. The service was prompt and impeccable. No detail was sparred. Needless to say, the food was delectable as usual. Many of our relatives and friends were pleasantly surprised that the diner offered such a high quality service.

Many thanks to Sal, Mark, and the staff of the Boulevard Diner for providing a pleasant service during our hour of need.

we got carry out: I ordered the #5 country grilled chicken off of the Grilled Chicken menu
The sandwich was huge, it was on a kaiser roll. The overall taste of the sandwich was great. It came with small coleslaw and pickle and chips. Mine was carry out so the chips were somewhat soggy from the heat and condensation in the container. The next time I ordered it, I asked for the chips on the side. No soggy chips (but they did forget the colslaw this time). But all and all, I felt that the value was great for the quality and and taste of my food.
