User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have purchased 4 vehicles from Russel Automotive. My first car was a volkswagen from their Russel VW store and my next three were toyotas from Russel Toyota. I can't say enough about Russel Toyota. I lease all of my vehicles so every three years I return and get a brand new car. I send everyone I know to Russel and they all tell me how easy and enjoyable their experiences are. It bothers me to see anyone bash such a great dealership. In todays world with so many businesses struggling to make money I have seen a lot of poor customer service and Russel is certainly not in this category. Any time I have ever had an issue with my vehicles they have always resolved them quickly and pain free. If you are ever in the market for a toyota, I urge you to try Russel Toyota.

I bought a new car from them 2 months ago and now I'm getting phone calls from their Finance office saying that I owe them more money. I signed all their paperwork with the belief that they knew what they were doing. But now I'm getting harassing calls saying that I owe more money. So far I have not seen any proof that I owe anything more. Sounds like just another way to squeeze more more out of their customers.

Be careful buying any used cars from Russel because the warranties promised by the salepeople disappear as soon as there is a problem. I have purchased several new vehicles from Russel in the past without any problem, but that was not the case with the used car we just purchased for my 16-year old. The salesperson promised us that we did not need to have our mechanic check it before purchase because there was a 3000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. When my mechanic found major problems two weeks after purchase, suddenly there was no 3000-mile bumper to bumper warranty but only a 30-day warranty. Since we were still within the 30 days, then the 30-day warranty only covered those things that would cause it to fail the Maryland state inspection. After fighting this issue for weeks, I have now paid hundreds of dollars for repairs just because of their dishonest sales reps. I tried contacting their sales managers, their service managers, their general manager, but no one seems to care. This situation showed such horrible customer service that my older daughter changed her mind about the new car she had been planning to purchase from Russel and got a new Hyundai instead. If they treat customers like this who have purchased several new vehicles from them in the past, I would hate to see how they treat people who have never bought anything from them before. I would strongly recommend going to CarMax in Laurel instead if you want to buy a used Toyota.

same thing happened to me. Their idea is to get you to drive off the lot, then get more money out of you once you have become attached to the car.
