    Good Food, Good Service But...: I attended Champs with my brother and had an excellent burger, outstanding french fries and the waitress (Amie) did a nice job. I had $30.00 of gift certificates given to me as a Christmas gift by one of my sons but had expired. Since good, hard cash had been given to the restaurant and in the past several other restaurants where my certificates had expired had honored them, I had called ahead and a young lady indicated Champs would honor the certificates and come on down. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very nice said but they would not honor the certificates and this was verified by another managerial person through our waitress. This left a bad taste in my mouth not fully satisfied by the good meal and attention.

    So So: After working out I went to Champs because I was just in the mood for comfort food. I was surprised when I ordered a burger and was told that all the chop beef was frozen and I had to order something else. I got the Hall of Fame platter which is really a sampler. I was ok. Would have been better if they had cocktail sauce for the fried shrimp. The ribs were a little too sweet for my taste. The place is clean, music and tv was good. The bartender was nice enough but not overly friendly. Bartender's service was good but the food was a bit slow in coming out. This is more a bar than a restuarant.

    Decent bar, typical food: The social group I belong to has our happy hours at Champs twice a month. For bars of this type, it is nice and we like that it is not too crowded. The service is ok, not very friendly. The food is typical offerings of fried items and wings and skins. If you are in the mood for loaded potato skins then I do recommend them. The pool tables are a nice feature.
