| About: | 'Visionary' is a term used to describe art that is created by people who use ordinary media to express their own intensely personal ideas about life. This museum has assembled a wonderful collection of this very Visionary art. Since Visionary artists generally lack formal training, and work outside of established art traditions, their works are as bold, innovative and inspirational as the visions that spawned them. Children under four years of age and under are free. |

Most Excellent!: Dude, American Visonary Art Museum rocks the socks off of the other fancy old and moldy art museums in Bawlmer!
The artists are amazing from surreal political oil paintings, modern themed sculpture, and interactive works. There are usually featured works in a separate room (I don't know what it's called) that showcases work from lesser known artists (yet awesomely gifted) from the past and present.
It also has an upscale cafe that makes the visit even more fulflling.
I can't say enough about the museum except you have to see it to believe it.
American Visionary Art Museum: A unique musueum in that all the works are by self taught artists. Simply an amazing collection, much of it quite amazing! The information about the artists is fascinating and very helpful in understanding their art. Not to be missed. Beautiful building also.
