Expensive and rude.
I called in during an understandly high peak lunch time, 12:30, for myself and my coworkers. I didn't expect the food for an hour or so so I placed it prior to a hour long meeting and left the money with the reciptionist, understanding that after the meeting with clients we would just come downstairs and pickup.
2 hours later the food had not arrived.
I called twice, each time very patiently and polietely asking for the status on my order, it was explained to me that "it would be going out shortly", this was already 1 hour and 30 minutes AFTER I initially placed the order.
20 minutes LATER the food had not arrived, so I called again and recieved a very rude girl who spoke on my behalf but shortly blew me off: she then finally told me she'd hop in the car and deliever it personally. Upon receipt it was lukewarm, and all I got for my trouble and politeness was a 3.75 discount off ONE sandwhich and advised not to call back for delievery anymore.
(NO I don't tip when my food is late and cold)
Terrible customer service. I understand that they may have only one driver, but when you're a small establishment it's all about setting priorities, and maintaining customer satisfaction. I was not rude. The order was only for two sandwiches, and the only explanation I recieved for all my the lateness was that they had "other large orders." I'm sorry, but I think people with huge order should have to wait, while small ones get taken care of right away. Time stamp them if you must - you should not attempt to punish the customer for your institutions inability or refusal to provide good service.
The food here is very good, but their biggest drawback is their prices. They are a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Most of the sandwiches will run you between $5-$6. That's just for the sandwich. Fries will be a few bucks extra. The food I like the best on their menu is the wings. Compared to other places, they are a bit small, however the sauce makes up for it. The "dynamite"sauce (2nd hottest) is just the right combination of heat and flavor, and 20 wings will run you about $10.99.
As a previous poster says, this is entirely carry-out, and don't expect to eat in your car either. There are signs posted on the lot regarding that, due to a lack of space for customers. The wait time is not excessive, even if you don't call your order in first.
I just wish their prices would come down a bit.
We have driven by many times and thought it was about time to give it a try.
I had the Rib Dinner with the Hickory Smoke sauce- $15.99. it came with fries and a side. I got the MD Crab soup. THe soup was very good and so were the fries. The sauce was one of the better I have had. The ribs them selves were average- they we fatty and a bit dry and tough (I have had better ribs).
My Husband had the Open-Pit beef sandwich. He had it with mayo and onions. It was very good. We both agree next time to try it with sauce.
Beware there is now where to sit down so it is a carry out place. You can call ahead but it doesn't take long.
They had Hot Apple Cider for free to drink while you waited- that was Yummy!
There are tons of other things on the menu and I can't wait to go back and try!
