    You probably will not find a more lovely proprietor than Joanie, & the food she provides is divine ... delicious & carefully considered for her clientele. But the beauty of this spot is truly in the experience--housed in an old grain warehouse now lovingly called "The Fat Lady," Joanie's is located in historic downtown Frederick, MD. The rooms have an ambiance that makes you feel you are part of the past, & they will fit a poetry reading, or an evening of music, or a place simply to go to be with dear friends. And I guarantee you, once you have visited--Joanie will be your friend, doing everything within her power to ensure you have an experience you'll want to return for--again & again & again.

    Absolutely, positively the most wonderful place to hang out, chat, and feel welcome. The fact that the food and drink that Joanie lovingly prepares are spectacular is a wonderful bonus. If you're looking for a 15 minute dine & dash, forget it - you're not likely to get in and out that quick, and you'd completely miss the beauty of this place and it's people.
