The best tasting pizza of my life, hands down. I was raised on "Chicago style" pizza in Illinois, and have tried many pizzerias in Manhattan, but had the good fortune of finding Salvatore and Vincenzo's authentic Italian pizzeria when I moved to Chestertown 25 years ago. I absolutely love the spinach roll, and end up eating more than I planned to every time - it's just too good! The Scottos have a growing business simply because they serve good tasting food! They are also the kindest gentlemen and their many customers adore them.
Procolino Pizza is something of a legend in town. As I've heard it, people that have traveled the world have come back to Chestertown and said that this pizza was their favorite. I certainly haven't done as much traveling as some, but I can vouch that this is the best pizza I have ever ate and everyone I have brought to the restaurant (including some self proclaimed 'pizza snobs' from my NY university) have loved it, too.
The pizza isn't the only thing that brings me back, though. The clean restaurant, open atmosphere, plentiful locals, and super friendly staff all contribute to making this one of my favorite restaurants on the east coast.
I could go on, but I'm about to go pick up a large anchovies and mushroom pizza. See you guys there!
I have had friends recommend this place and read good reviews about it, so I was shocked at how bad it was. I've had better pizza in bowling alleys. The sign out front says New York Style. I wonder what part of New York specializes in pizza crust that tastes like an oversized saltine. What a waste of $20.
