The Cafe is so unique and has a wonderful selections of items to eat that are great for the soul. The black bean soup is one of a kind. My experience is that it should be rated 5 stars, for everything. Any one that writes negative remarks without putting there name, has no courage and is just plain mean, and clueless.
You rarely see locals going in- a tell tale sign. The owner's rudeness accounts for that. The menu may have improved since the place has opened, but most won't be in to find out. Decor is about all this place has going for it. If you want true Eastern Shore Hospitality and a good meal- go elsewhere.
The black bean soup is the signature dish in this adorable 50's style cafe. Sit at the counter on the original stools and slurp up the spicy, sour-cream topped soup, or sit at a table Friday night and have a unique special. Home-made Chesapeake ice cream and occasionally, pomegranate ice bon-bons. People are said to travel from Northern Jersey just for the black bean soup. Right next to an old-timey hardware store. A great stop if crossing Maryland's Eastern Shore.
