User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsRealistic Review: If you are coming to Oakland Maryland or the Deep Creek area, this motel is a great choice. There are 4 motels in Oakland and Oak-Mar for sure is the best....trust me, the owner is the owner. He has lived in the area all of his life and is quite helpful with directions, etc. The onsite restaurant is also very handy. Not sure about all prices for all times of the year but I pay 49.99 Sunday through Thursday business rates. For this location, and the wonderful family style restaurant, which still has a Mon to Fri lunch special for 4.95, come on, what more can one want?

Over the past 10+ years I have stayed here many times. Rooms are quite nice, in fact all rooms got new mattresses just a few months ago. On site restaurant is why I really enjoy the Oak-Mar. Owner is a local and is on site everyday to look over any problems. Location is handy also. It sits right along Rt 219 and is just a few miles from Deep Creek Lake and Swallow Falls State Parks.

the food in the restuarant was reasonable priced and good homecooked meal, comfortable atmosphere. I'll be back!!!
