I'VE BEEN COMING TO SCHNAITMANS AND RENTING A BOAT FOR ABOUT 25 YEARS ON MY OWN. MY MOM AND DAD USED TO BRING US AS WE WERE KIDS.THEY HAVE THE BEST SERVICE AND BEST PEOPLE AROUND. NOT TO MENTION THE BEST CRABSSSS. I WOULDN'T CRAB ANYWHERE ELSE. IF IT WASN'T FOR SCHNAITMANS I PROBALLY WOULD NOT BE CRABBING AS MUCH AS I DO. THANKS FOR ALL OF THE WONDERFUL YEARS AND MORE TO COME

Been Going Here 40 Years & Can Never Get Enough!!: Schnaitman's Boat Rentals is right on the Wye River. I've been going here for 40 years and my son has been going here since he was an infant changing his diapers on the boat. :) This is a family run business that has charter boat services as well as wooden flat bottom row boats and boats with motors for rent. You can also get bait, crabbing supplies, nets, anything ya need for the boat at the little store right on the water and everything is right there to just gear up and get out on the water catching crabs. The crabs are always bigger at Wye Mills for some reason - "they must make right turns from Crab Alley and head right to the Schnaitman's." There are public boat ramps and bathroom facilities right on site and it's just a really scenic and beautiful to take kids and family crabbing. If you forget tongs, nets, baskets or anything - it's all available in the store right there. You can even have the crabs you catch cooked right there before ya head home. I have crabbed in many different areas in Maryland but this is where the big Blue Claws are!!! Here you will catch the big ones and meet some of the most friendly and down to earth people I've ever met.

I have met people from all over the United States who travel to this site and they come back year after year from Baltimore, Delaware, New Jersey, Lancaster, PA and Pittsburgh PA, Virginia, Carolina, New York and other places. I've seen chartered busses come to this place even from other states as I was growing up as a kid even. This place is just that nice and once your kids come here - you can bet they will bring their kids here in due time.
