So, a childhood friend of mine came up to Frederick after about three months of not seeing eachother. We wanted to eat a nice lunch at a above average resturant, like Gladchuck Bros. or similar (I was really in the mood for tapas). Well, it just so happenes that we planned to dine on a Monday afternoon and to our horror find that an abundance of rest.'s are closed on Monday's. After looking for someplace to eat for over an hour we were so famished we decided just to go into whichever the next place that serves food was,,,,that brought us to Brewer's Alley. When you first walked in if felt like you were bombarded by WAY TOO MANY females, with prestigious attitudes at the hostess station, We wanted to eat on the patio, but there was a wait. and we weren't up for waiting another second for food. The waitress was very rude. I'm in my mid-twenties & she eyeballed my licence for what seemed like forever (I didnt even Drink alcohol!!!) Nothing on the menu was what we wanted. All in all this seemed like a horrible conquest in comparison to what we were hoping for. We ordered this soft pretzel with cheese and jalepeno's (we didn't recall eating any peppers this whole meal), A supped up BLT, macaroni and cheese (served as a double side order for around $12.00), and i really wanted their salad-something along the lines of a house salad. Well, the pretzles came out first, and it was so WONDERFUL thath we instantly wished that we had just ordered six pretzels for our meal rather than any other food lol. Well, after a very long story the food was excellent...the salad was so fresh with an amazing dressing. My girlfriend who was the one complaining the mac n cheese price was "so glad we got it"- the sandwhich was good too, i really loved the mustard they served with it. (just a spicy must, but great!) So I guess I'll give it 3 stars...the service was awful from the minute we walked in the door until we left, but every part of the meal was amazing!
Brewer's Alley has a great atmosphere, decent food, and really good beer. I've eaten there several times, and it's good. If you're expecting something amazing, try someplace else, but if you want some good food with good beer it's a really good place to have a meal.
The pizzas are probably the best part of the menu, in my opinion, and you can't beat their Thursday Lobster Night deal.
Honestly, the food is just so-so - absolutely nothing great (I've been there 15-20 times), but the beer is the best you'll have around here.
Ask for the small samplers before ordering a full beer.
