Keep in mind that the food here is Mennonite and prepared differentyfrom the usual fare. I am particularly pleased with the soft fried potatoes and the dish of dried white corn. I have never seen them offered in any otherr restaurant.
I was one of a bus load of senior citizens who ate here on our way through. The food was great and everyone was very friendly. Definitely worth stopping at.
I wonder if Marta mixed Penn Alps up with another restaurant...I can't remember how many times we've eaten there on the way to D.C. and never had a bad portion let alone a bad meal. It's homestyle cooking, nothing fancy so maybe not to everyone's palate!!! Always good, warm atmosphere and great old fashioned desserts. Highly recommend .... it's a 'locals' favorite so you know it's good!
