The best part of Suicide is the Friday night buffett. The cream of crab soup is hit or miss at best. The view is great, and you can dock your boat to grab a bite during the weekend. It gets packed on the weekend, so make sure you have reservations. Has some great waiters, who provide excellent service.
Wow, I have not been to Suicide Bridge Restaurant since I was a teenager (about 15 years ago or more). I grew up around the area, and it was a wonderful place. I associate it was nothing but fabulous memories. My dad and uncles docked their boats there and we ate and visited with family. I remember especially loving the simplest thing: cheese and crackers they'd put out for free on the table. My sister and I fought over them!
I now live far away in Florida, but I wish I could go back there.
My Aunt (a member of the historical society and stuff like that) says the name came from several Suicides on that little itty bitty bridge. Amazing.
Someone should research that and write a book or something. I'd love to read it...the history of the place.
BTW, I bet you half the customers and most of people all around the area are related to my huge huge family from my mother's side. So hi, y'all. :)
Horrible experience! Food was terrible. The cream of crab soup tasted like ammonia and had to get sent back. And service was really slow. Then we went to the bar & me and all of my boys were asked to go home with the dark haired bar tender, Ashley I think, that was wasted! We all got a good laugh, but it was pretty bad all around.
