I think that sometimes people dont quite get that there car is to old and they need a new one. I have had nothing but success from sherwood of salisbury. I have been coming there since 2001. I love it.

I would have to steer anyone seeking competent repair service AWAY from Sherwood.

We have a 2004 Town and Country which has performed spectacularly. My wife had hit a puddle one and the car sputtered for a few minutes and then cleared up(Wet plugs most likely). even thought the issue cleared right up, we were nearing 100K and thought it was time to have a tune up.

They charged me $700 for a few items, a bit steep, but its the dealership and these guys know their product best. After all I'm putting my family in the van right?

As I went to drive the vehicle off the lot, it died in their driveway. It had never done this before(Stalled) so I was a little miffed. The next day they call me back and after some tense words, they assured me it was fixed. another $115.

It died on the way out of the lot again.

They repair it again, they called us in the middle of my kid's birthday party(They couldn't have known this) so we didn't quite get what was wrong with it, but it was fixed.

Pick it up and made it out of the parking lot this time. (Progress) Within 1 week it was sputtering and acting up. All of this on a van that was working perfectly well when we gave it to them.

They find some broken wiring (Wonder how that happened) and called at 7:40AM to tell us it was fixed. They wanted to charge me 200+ to fix it ON TOP OF the 800+ I've given them. To their credit when I asked them why I was paying labor given the situation, they knocked the labor costs off.

I also note that no one ever said "We're sorry about that"

Before you buy from Sherwood of Salisbury or Chrysler Corporation - Please Read The Following.

Before you buy anything with the belief that the salesperson knows what they are talking about or thinking that they have your best interest in mind, let me tell you a little story about my experience with Sherwood of Salisbury and the Chrysler Corporation.

In August of 2007 my wife and I were driving a 2002 Ford Excursion we went to Sherwood of Salisbury looking at a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban. A large vehicle that suited the needs of our large family (5 children) and could tow an old boat that we haul to our local waterways seemed the perfect fit.

After informing the salesperson (Drew) about the needs of our family the boat and the kids and better gas mileage we were informed that we could do better on mileage than the Suburban by purchasing a brand new Jeep Commander. It had a tow package, 7 seats and a sunroof which my wife really liked in addition to the lifetime power-train warranty. Well investing in a car that we could drive forever seemed worth the additional payments. After that it became a choice between three of the same model, a white Trail Rated edition, a green Rocky Mountain Edition, and a red Limited Edition.

We quickly ruled out the white trail rated edition because it did not have a tow package even though my wife really liked the Flex Fuel engine as she is an environmentalist. And then based on the salespersons claims that the only difference between the remaining vehicles was gas mileage, creature comforts, and cost we chose the less expensive model.

We purchased first new vehicle together and loved it and were very happy until April 20, 2008, the day we went to hook up the boat. I whipped out the owner’s manual in order to make sure we did everything correctly turns out my boat weighs too much for our Jeep Commander to haul by 2,400lbs

So the next day I called the dealership. Well the sales manager was very understanding and said he would call me back. And he did two days later with bad news. It turns out that the tow package on the other more comfortable Commander would have worked (that’s why it got worse gas mileage) it could tow 7,200 lbs. But it would cost us $28,248 ($ 812.00 per month for 84 months) to get in the vehicle that was $8,500 dollars more in the first place. The Jeep Sales Managers (John) reason for the huge difference in price was the deprecation on our Commander. The only problem with this is that had we been given the proper information in the first place we would have never bought the vehicle we were driving. And that he was sorry.
So I called the Chrysler Corporation to let them know what had happened. The end result was that they were going to call the dealership to let them know what had happened and ask them to resolve the problem they also gave me the owner of the dealerships name. (Bruce Rogers) and suggested that I write him a letter.
So (Long story short) Mr. Rogers informed me that:
    1) His employee was first class.
    2) Trading me out into a replacement was not feasible.
    3) If I still wanted to trade out it would increase my payments by 150 per month and increase my term. (This a net increase of $29,916)
    4) He also told me: That the vehicle should have no problem pulling the weight I described safely. And that if something were to happen to the engine or transmission because of overloading the vehicle that he would have no way of telling how much weight I had pulled. So the warranty would cover any problems that my wife and I incurred.

So with this new found knowledge I called the Chrysler Corporation again and was told flat out that the warranty would not cover such damages and that it was not safe to haul more than the specified weight. And that since the dealer would not help me I had no further recourse.
