May 21 – graduation day from Salisbury University for my daughter. Months before the big day we let her choose which restaurant she would like to have her celebration lunch at. Because it is her favorite Italian restaurant in Salisbury, she chose Flavors of Italy. Knowing that it might be difficult to get in we booked our reservation for 11 people months in advance.

At 12:30 when we arrived at the restaurant, they sat us at a nice table in the fireside room. We had our own private little area. It was great. Our waitress brought us our drinks, our bread and our appetizers. Then we waited and waited and waited……. but our lunch didn’t come. When we asked about the delay, we were told that the kitchen was a little backed up and that our food would be out soon. Finally, after we had been there for about 1-1/2 hours, 4 of the entrees came, but not the rest of the meals. At 2:30 two of the people in our party had to leave because they had another graduation ceremony that they had to attend. They never did get to eat! Eventually our food did come and it was awful! The chicken Parmesan and the eggplant Parmesan were so overcooked that they were almost impossible to cut. At that point we were starving so we did eat the food which was probably the worst food that I have ever eaten.

We asked to speak to either the owner or the manager, but no one would come out and talk to us. The only compensation that the restaurant gave us was to deduct the drinks (and the 2 meals that were never received) from our bill. Most of us drank nothing more than water so what they deducted was the cost of 4 sodas.

We have 2 more children who attend the university and a daughter who lives in Salisbury, but this will be one restaurant that we will never go back to. And we would definitely not recommend it to anyone else.
