Morgan's American Grill

When we first came to this area in the fall of '06 our realtor took us to Morgan's for dinner. I was impressed. However, since we moved here, we've tried it twice, because so many of our neighbors like it but we've been sooooo disappointed both times. First of all, the meals are very overpriced. The atmosphere is cold, there is an attempt to be upscale, but they just don't know what they are doing. I ordered the warm brie and fruit for an appetizer and the fruit consisted of two not so appetizing strawberries and 3 or 4 orange slices. Are you kidding me? The lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing was so drenched in the blue cheese dressing it was disgusting. My husband had crab soup and there were shells in the soup. Yeah, stay away from Morgan's. It's too bad because there isn't much in New Market.

My husband and I had wanted to try Morgan's for the longest time. We did a week ago and the food was out of this world. It was well worth the price and the portions were great. Morgan's is by far the best place to go for a meal. They have a very friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. I highly recomend Morgan's and we will be regular customers in the future.

Good food and service, most of the time: I have found Morgan's to be very good most of the time. Since it's in a convenient location, we're inclined to overlook some of its flaws, which for us have been relatively minor. Our best experiences have been during off hours. Beef and chicken dishes have been consistently good and well presented. I don't agree that it's overpriced. My wife and I both like the contemporary decor. The flaws usually involve others in our party and seafood that was mistakenly undercooked (nearly raw) or simply the wrong dish. This has happened twice to friends of ours, both times during busy hours. Having to send food back causes awkward delays when others have been served, even though the replacement dishes have been relatively quick to arrive. We haven't experienced any of the rude wait staff mentioned above, and have found most to be very pleasant and professional.
