I recently ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday party. What a beauty! I have had lovely service and wonderful cakes from Clustered Spires Bakery for more than 5 years now. Their cakes are delicious, they offer choices in frostings, and they do absolutely lovely and creative design work. I have always received excellent service, even during busy times and when I've made my request with only a day or two ahead. I highly recommend this baker.

I was VERY disappointed in the service and the cake I got from here. I should have turned around and left when I got the arrogant vibe from this baker. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! I asked her (the owner) to make a cake for my father in law's birthday event. I chose the cake and asked her to make it a two layer cake. She gave me a timeframe to come by and pick it up because she'd be in the bakery at that time awaiting another customer to pick up a cake. Well when I got there, she wasn't finished with my cake and was still working on it. I found it kind of strange that she wasn't finished and waited till the last minute, but I let it go. Then she told me that she decided to make it a three layer cake... and supposidly "didn't charge me for the extra layer." Ok... fine. I was running late for our birthday surprise party so I payed and left. When I got home which was just a simple 3 mile drive, the cake was all dismantled and had fallen apart!!! I was horrified!!! When I called her, she told me that it was MY FAULT that the cake had dismantled. That she didn't recommend the layers but because I had wanted layers, having a dismantled cake was bound to happen. I was SO angry that she tried to turn this around on me... I asked for a two layer cake and SHE was the one that made the decision to make it a three layer cake. Then she blamed me because it wasn't settled and said that a car ride was going to dismantle it. First of all, why in the world would you sell a "SPECIAL OCCASION" cake to a customer that you knew would ruin with a simple car ride home... secondly, if you're the one that made the decision to put in an extra layer, why would you blame the customer for that? And lastly, why would you wait until the last minute to bake a cake and not even give it time to settle - knowing it needed time to settle so it wouldn't dismantle. Why would you be so cheap and rude to knowingly sell me a $50 cake knowing it was going to be ruined by the time I got home. Needless to say, she ruined my father in law's birthday. She didn't apologize, she didn't offer a return, she didn't offer anything. Nothing out of her mouth was kind and to the last minute she was arrogant about the whole situation. We didn't have a cake for our 30 some guests, but we definitely told them NOT TO GO TO CLUSTERED SPIRES. If I could, I'd give them ZERO stars - they ruined our special occasion, they're unprofessional and they don't care about their customers!!!!!
