I just moved to Hagerstown from Baltimore. A new friend suggested it for dinner with my parents and 3yr old daughter. It was wonderful, the service was great and the food was delicious. (we all had too much and had to take some home)They even had a kids menu. The drinks were a bit pricy, but coming from Baltimore it wasn't that bad. All in all a great night. And I never met the owner, and choose not to coment on other posts.
My wife and I visited Hagerstown over the Valentine's Weekend. Being from NYC we certainly had high expectations for a Valentine's Day dinner. This was our first as a married couple and Al Pomodoro made it as special as any place in NYC could. The service was great. Our waiter served like he was trained at the best 4 star restaurant in NYC, LA, London, all of the major cities. The food was presented and prepared perfectly. The taste was exquisite! The presentation of the champagne was well done, very professional! The hostess was very gracious and made sure we were enjoying our dinner throughout the evening. The ambiance was very romantic with low lighting perfectly balanced with candles. Al Pomodoro was il giusto tocco!!! Bravo, Bravo!
Tonight was the first night I went to Al Pomorodoro. I have never commented about a restaurant before, but I really felt it necessary.
We were greeted by a very nice young lady who took us to our table. Every employee that passed us on our way to the table said hello, it made us feel very welcomed. Our server was there in no time and was so helpful, suggesting drinks and appetizers. We ordered brushetta and mussles in a red sauce and they were both fantastic! We were very undecided on what to order, and again our server answered every question and even told us that the kitchen would be happy to switch sauces or pastas (and from past experiences at other places, that does not happen often.) We decided on one of their specials which was tilapia with crab and a home-made cream sauce and a shrimp and scallops dish that was served with linguini pasta in a kind of creamy red sauce. I could not believe how fresh and amazingly great both dinners were. The portions were very generous, we will be having a nice lunch tomorrow. We were too full for dessert, but we looked at their menu and will definately be back some night for coffee and tiramasu!! When the bill came, I was more than pleased because our bill was only about $65 which I believe to be more than reasonable.
Again on our way out, every emplyoee said goodbye and wished us a good night. This was by far the best dining experience I have encountered ever. I will be recommending this place to EVERYONE and my husband and I will most definately be back.
