THE BEST CHICKEN SALAD IN TOWN THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND STORE THEY GO ALL OUT TO PROVIDE GREAT SERVICE FOR ALL WHO SHOP DONT FORGET THEIR GREAT WINE SELECTION
Gordon's is the place I miss the most after moving from Hagerstown.
I started visiting the store when I moved a few blocks away and was stunned to find my favorite (then extremely difficult to locate) Fresca. I'd stop in every week for a six pack, and 3rd generation member John dubbed me 'Fresca Lady.'
Yes, prices are all over the map, but that's to be expected in a smaller grocery where products might not be purchased in large quantities. The main reason for visiting Gordons (for me, anyway) was that John, Cynthia and Tony made a huge effort to keep their customers happy.
If you haven't had the rotisserie chicken or ribs, you're missing out on some fine food. I recently got a smoker/wood fired grill and would love to know what the rub was that they used-no barbeque sauce was needed.
The quality of the meats rivaled Penn Ave a couple of miles away and the prices on those items typically was in line with them.
If my job opportunities bring me back to Western Maryland, I'll be happy to visit Gordon's once again. You don't find many family run businesses with such attention to customer service anymore.
